A Study Exploring Student Thriving in Professional Programs: Expanding Our Understanding of Student Success

Success in professional programs is attributed and easily quantified by graduation rates pass on certification exams, however, what missing a holistic understanding of students’ thriving. This study utilized data from students Clinical Laboratory Science, Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation who completed the Thriving Quotient survey. Students’ thriving three domains academic, intrapersonal, interpersonal were explored. revealed important results: 1) are academically 2) they have difficulty juggling demands school work, 3) struggle to make social connections. Structures immersive, experiential learning activities inherent support academic Efforts strategies needed increase coping skills Recommendations offered educators about helping thrive beyond.
